Spa Day & Giveaway

I love going to the spa with hours of pampering in a quiet, stress-free environment.  aaahhhh

So as you can imagine, I was very excited to participate in a blogger preview day at Healthy Being Wellness Center.  Healthy Being is a full service, holistic & natural healing center with an upscale, zen-inspired spa flair.  We got to sample their Valentine's Day spa treatments.

The staff welcomed us with fresh fruit, muffins and delicious beverages.

Each of us received an itinerary with 4 mini spa treatments to sample.  My treatments included a hand/arm massage with chocolate scented lotion, a dark chocolate moisturizing facial, paraffin hand treatment with chocolate/peppermint oil, and ear seeds.

Denise of Run DMT, Crystal of Thrifty and Frugal Living, Raffi of Running Betty, ME, Jenny of MetamorFit, and Teresa of Making It All Work.

First, was my paraffin hand treatment by Kristina.  My last paraffin treatment was almost 13 years ago, on my wedding day.  The warm, chocolate scented paraffin made my hands baby soft.

Next up for me was a hand/arm massage using chocolate scented lotion.  The chocolate scent was such a tease for this chocolate lover but I thought licking the lotion might be harmful.  The massage was fantastic!  I found it interesting that Becky, my massage therapist, could tell I was right handed while massaging my arm because that arm had more tension than my left.

After my massage, I saw Adam, the acupuncturist, for ear seeds.  What are ear seeds you may ask.  Don't worry, we all asked about the intriguing, ear seeds.  None of us had ever heard of them as an acupuncture technique.  Ear seeds are used to stimulate ear acupuncture points for a longer period of time than the needles.  Adam placed 4 ear seeds in my ear.

You can see 3 of my 4 ear seeds.  They are the black dots under the tape, 2 are near the top and one above my earring.  It was a strange sensation at first but soon, I didn't feel the ear seeds at all.

Last but not least was my chocolate moisturizing facial by Cindy.  This facial blend smelled heavenly but not much like chocolate.  It was very soothing and relaxing.

My face was glowing after the mini facial.

Thanks to everyone at Healthy Being; Adam, Becky, Cindy, Kristina, and owner Melissa for a fantastic and relaxing time!
